To drive this commitment, we successfully launched Project Spine earlier this year – a framework designed to enhance our methods and implement smarter practices across key business areas. A central part of Project Spine is the integration of Procore, a powerful technology solution that’s transforming our project management approach.
With Procore, our teams can easily manage all project documentation in one place, supporting comprehensive drawing and document management, quality inspections, task management, site inspections, and project reporting. The platform simplifies permit tracking for activities like hot works and risk assessments, improving compliance and oversight and the shift to a digital platform provides our team with real-time access to essential documents and checklists, whether they’re onsite or in the office.
This phased onboarding throughout the business has been progressing well, and we’re excited to see that our Rail team on the The Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) NSCD framework have already realised excellent efficiencies for our project delivery. Our project team have been utilising Procore extensively for managing Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) and quality forms and reports, such as Hot Works permits and Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA). By transferring these processes onto Procore, the team has streamlined document management, enhanced task tracking, and reinforced quality and safety compliance through a paperless, fully digital approach. One standout benefit has been the team’s ability to create and integrate customised inspection sheets tailored to specific site needs. For instance, the team designed a manual handling assessment sheet that was approved from our SHE team and has been rolled out across other site teams.
