Looking after yourself and each other

Looking after yourself and each other this Autumn

As we are now experiencing poor weather conditions and approaching the colder winter months, our SHEA team have prepared a few safety tips for staying safe and well during this time:

Preventing slips, trips and falls

Slips, trips and falls are some of the most common causes of injuries on construction sites. To help reduce the risk of a slip, trip or fall:

  • Take extra time
  • Be extra aware of your surroundings and hidden hazards
  • Always wear appropriate footwear and the correct PPE for the task
  • Always make sure walking routes are well lit
  • Use extra lighting when working on scaffolding
  • Report poor lighting on site, in offices and walkways
  • Keep your site tidy before you start work, during and
    after completion.
  • Always use handrails when using stairs or steps and make sure they are clear of obstacles or trip hazards.
